Wie was Paul Nash?

Paul Nash , geboren op 11 mei 1889 in Londen, Verenigd Koninkrijk, overleden op 11 juli 1946 in Bournemouth, Verenigd Koninkrijk, was een Britse surrealistische schilder en oorlogskunstenaar, evenals fotograaf, schrijver en ontwerper van toegepaste kunst. Hij bleef zich concentreren op de landschapsschilderkunst, aanvankelijk in een formele, decoratieve stijl, maar gedurende de jaren dertig op een steeds abstractere en surrealistischere manier. In zijn schilderijen plaatst hij vaak alledaagse voorwerpen in een landschap om ze een nieuwe identiteit en symboliek te geven.
